he's in a public aquarium, so "usually" they keep fish from the same geographical location together., he's in chicago, which means Shedd Aquarium, a very well set up aquarium.
With the adipose fin, its a Characin from Africa, which Distichodus first comes to mind, then you search through a list of fish in that genus, and bingo!
