Guess what monster fish this is

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I just got back and got to eat dinner, then I will look.

Bottom round steak and twice baked potatoes with onions and mushrooms,
Lates nilotica (immature nile perch)?

I was origninally thinking it was a Lates sp. but I believe their dorsal fins are split and these guys have a continuous dorsal fin. I then thought maybe it's a siniperca species, but it doesn't really match either of the two species that I am aware of. I think I'm stumped on this one.

Lethrinops furcicauda?

A nandus sp., Nandus nadus?

Are you sure it is from India? Fishbase.org only lists 8 nandidae in India, 4 badis types(not them, I checked all but the Badis kanbos which I can't find a pic for), The Dario dario (nope), 2 pristolepis (not them either) and the Nandus nandus, here is a pic.
I also found one the did not list, the Badis bengalensis but that is a typical badis.
the fins, head, mouth, foreheadstripe, and eyes are right for the nandus but yours is an odd coloration. Could yours be leucistic? It even shows a hint of the spot just before the tail base.

Do I get to post a pic?
