What do you keep them in? A huge shoal of 'em or all split up? Got pics?

They are all in a 180 right now. The majority of the ones I have are around 3" so it's not over crowded, yet. Once they get a little bigger, I will be working on a very large river setup to try and breed them. It's going to be a long shot, but I really want to try. My goal is to own an albino clown loach.

I am going to try and get a feeding video this week, so that you can see a large percentage of them.

that would make one cool massive shoal. Numbers are one thing... but what size is the largest? Are they as social when they reach really large sizes as they are when they are little?

My largest one is probably around 7" and his body is massive. It's weird that all of my 3" loaches kind of hang out together and the 6 loaches that I have that are above 5" all stay together. The larger loach shoal doesn't ever come out until my lights go off, cause they know that that is when they get their food. Once that light goes out then they are out for the night and are really active and playful.

That sounds like an awesome plan! Kinda what I'm planning with the lungfish collection also. Best of luck to the two of us eh?

I sure hope that we both succeed! :headbang2

Would love to see that video as well. Does an albino exist yet? And have they been bred in the past? The problem with African lungs, and the reason they haven't been bred outside of a pond, is because they fight like all get out!

I got lucky with these guys. They were only $10 each.
How long do clowns take to grow. My LFS has 3 or 4 clowns that are around 4-5". They want $150 apiece!!!!!! It seems like a much better deal to buy young ones and grow them out yourself. You can't beat 10 bucks!

It took me about a year to get my 1" guys up to 3-1/2". $150 is a too much. TFD has some cheaper than that. I like to grow all of my fish out, even though I have cheated on a couple of them. It will be 5-10 years until they can get up to 12".

Wow clown loaches might take over the world some day..
