Guianacara owroewefi?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That's interesting.
I got mine at the 2012 Chicago Cichlid classic put on by the gcca, the breeder had so many he was practically giving them away at the time (think I got 20 for $40).
He had an add in the gcca classifieds for sale as Guianacara geayi.

Well if I cant find any....I would love to buy some off of you....I would handle the shipping and all. There so hard to find.

I will check but I have called and been to 15 different places and most didnt even know what I was talking about. others stated that they never think to pick them up

I usually separate fry at a half to 1", or when I notice the fry start to cannibalize the parents (when the parents are irritated and need to start to shake them off).

ok thanks
I believe I saw your wanted ad in the gcca classified, if the guy I got mine from is still breeding them, he will probably see it, or someone who knows him will.
Just an FYI
The photos you posted are a pair in spawning colors, and those are temporary, and only occur when a pair is spawning.
Most of the time Guianacara are going to appear less bright.
When my Herichthys bartoni are not spawning, they look like this

when guarding fry they look like this, I think it's worth the wait

And the same goes for H carpintus,
non spawning colors

spawning colors

sorry if this seems a derail
