Does anybody on MFK know of any guides that work the White River in Indianapolis, Indiana. We are going there for the ACA convention in a couple weeks and I'm trying to catch some u familiar species while we are there. All the Muskie guides are booked and 2 hours away from convention. Any help will be appreciated...

what are you looking to fish for? YOu wont find any good musky except way north on Webster lake. There is a small gravel pit about an hour from Indy that stocks them. Never tried for them but see them around..

white river that runs through downtown is excellent smallmouth and flathead fishing from what I hear however I seem to be cursed on that river. I've got very few fish to show for all the hours out there. Havent taken either of my boats out there yet to access better areas so I wont dismiss it yet. Excellent bank access, but look out for the homeless idiots.

Dont expect musky without a substantial drive...

Every muskie guide I talked too was booked & 2 hours outside Indy. One said he would email me info on a guide that was catching 40lb flatheads in town on White River but I yavent heard back yet....

Unlikely to find many in the area like that. I know te best spot near Indy and is on my to do list soon. Takin the boat out there this weekend to check it out.

Look up Eddie brochin. I believe his guide service still guides in the area. He's a bit of a legend around here.

Ultimateoutdoorstv.com he's been featured in many magazines and finds monster fish downtown.

I just emailed him, thanks for the help! We went down to Grand Isle Friday night and witnesses a night time feeding frenzy w/ THOUSANDS of white trout working the submerged lights on the public pier. They were working big bait balls of minnows and shrimp were literally jumping out the water. They only get about a foot, but we caught so many it was amazing. There was also a school of dolphin working the trout along the shadow lines. A true spectacle....
