is it better not to bother with substrate with a gulper? i was thinking a thin layer of sumthing as dont want the tank to look too bare

As for me, I just threw a background to my tank and kept it a bare bottom for two reasons
1- so it is easier to clean
2- I have plants in my sump, so the light goes right threw the tank to keep the plants alive and working (amonia etc...
). 2 birds with one stone

Did they tell you they were coming in Sat? or you are picking him up Sat (cause this is a big diff. They always tell me they are coming in this day and that day... compared to they are in)?

im gonna be picking a 4-5" gulper up nxt week
and im not gonna risk anything in with it.i wouldent risk one with anytihng smaller than 2feet(gulpers max at 10-12inch)
