Haha not really bought them knowing the potential fatalities but I had them in my tank since January and they never bothered them. Had 3 sengals now have two. Didn't expect it to eat it cause it was kinda long. Rookie mistake...did you expect a different outcome from a fish that can swallow something twice its size? lol
this hobby is 50% mistakes. you've learned and now you know lol.Haha not really bought them knowing the potential fatalities but I had them in my tank since January and they never bothered them. Had 3 sengals now have two. Didn't expect it to eat it cause it was kinda long. Rookie mistake
I have three of them , ridiculous and ignorant? Yes. Bought them cause never seen them in person, and seen a viral video of one chewing a big ol cichlid so I was like man these dudes are insane! And the guy was selling it for really cheap. I just like how they look and what they are capable of. But realizing too many fishes are disappearing usually what's left are big poops, lmao. But first time I actually seen it poop out a whole skeleton with some skin on the sengal. 8 inch odoe pike disappeared as well. Not trace of it, 6-7 inch purple wolf disappeared as well. And 5 inch archer fell victim as well actually seen the shape of the archer in one of the gulpersThis happens. Gulpers are solo fish or groups of their own, same size.
That was a nice sized Senegalus by the way.
Why not just keep the gulper as a solo fish? What's done is done. Learn and move on.

Gaha I know. Wish it didn't go down like that! Love the little fella, now tryna sell em.this hobby is 50% mistakes. you've learned and now you know lol.
gulpers are one of the more unique catfish that don't require massive space, I suggest at least trying to keep one by itself.Gaha I know. Wish it didn't go down like that! Love the little fella, now tryna sell em.
Well they do tend to hang out with each other, swimming in place looking inconspicuous. Yeah guy I bought it from had them in 30 gallon or so. Have them in 100 at the moment. But they hang out in the back near my intake filter majority of the time. Sometimes laying down from being so bloated , have to poke them to make sure it isn't dying XD yeah hopefully someone buys them or I should just have another tank strictly for them.gulpers are one of the more unique catfish that don't require massive space, I suggest at least trying to keep one by itself.
One of my gulpers ate my 8-10 inch Sengal super sad. That was what was left of it. Now selling my Gulpers
