wow... nice group george... how much you feed?

i feed them 3-4x a week about 1lb of shrimp total.

They are starting to come around wobbling their way through the tank. Took them a few weeks to get comfy in the tank. This is exactly the opposite side of the spectrum.. you got a predatory monster with teeth, and then you got the gulper on the other end, like fat bastards with a smile.

like your avitar.... lol

love them one day ill get one..

Wow!! You have three of them? You keep them together? Aren't you afraid of them eating each other? Gulp and its over!! oy!

im actually not worried since they can inflate themselves once threatened. Many others have kept multiples together without any problems also.

 I envisioned that haha!

You are one lucky of a son of a gun to own three of them. They are few and far between my way. And the importers have high mark-ups! Do you keep them with anything? What are the tank stats (tank size ,filtration etc)? What are they feeding on?
I would really appreciate you documenting all the knowledge you have of these shoefreak03, information is so scarce on them.

I've been wanting these for a long time and once they became available I just had to jump on them. I am no expert on these fishes but I can tell you what my experience are with them.

Currently they are in a 60g tank with 2 aquaclear500 (about 400gph) and a powerhead (295gph) to create alot of current and circulation in the tank. water is straight from the tap. pH at 7.6 and temp at around 82-84F. of course ammonia and nitrite is zero.

people have told me they are pretty hardy fishes which seems pretty true as one of them did not eat for about 1 week. I couldnt figure it out why until i search on the internet and one site stated that they will only take fresh food, which is true for one of them since it will only take fresh shrimp. if it has been frozen, then it will spit it out. The other 2 will take frozen with no problems.

I've never had any other tankmates with them since I dont want to take a chance but watching them wobble around in the tank, i dont know how they are able to catch other fishes in the wild. I am sure i havent seen what they are capable of yet. they show no aggression to each other and often just lay next to each other all day long. As you probably already know, they are not active. When i only had 1, it was not active at all, but once i got 2 more, they are more active. They mostly swim against the current all day long until feeding time.

I am still trying to figure what what sex they are so if anyone can show me how to tell the difference, that would be greatly appreciated.
