**Gulper Catfish Question**

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ive heard gulpers do fine together, in fact thats probably the most ideal tank mate for them. But as long as you follow the golden rule, which is dont put significantly smaller fish with bigger ones. A 1 inch difference with gulpers wont matter. But make sure you have good space for them.

I have my one in a 75 gallon with a xp3, a HOT Magnum(HOB) with a prefilter, 2 hydro sponge V's with 350GPH powerheads on top of them. I have notice they eat alot more if you keep the water clean. I used to do weekly water changes. But now I do water changes twice a week and he eats more and swims around the tank more.

wow, do they really need that much filtration? im starting to feel like my two 50 gallon filters wont cut it.

it's better to over filter, then under filter.

I have a friend who has a 6" gulper with a 5" gulper no probs,

what kind of filtration does he have? im gonna end up spending about $250 on these fish and i want to make sure i have a proper setup before i do.

for a 50gal, a fluval 405 and a ac110 would be good. i think. thats a water turn over of 200+gph.
