Shrimp shall be tomorrow. Do gulpers need hiding areas? They seem to swim alot on my tank. That normal? They have what appear to be rub spots on their chins. And appears fins have been clipped? Shipping I am guessing?

Clipped fins is from shipping, it will grow back. I have 4 and they hide a lot. I feed mine every friday, Tilapia fillet or market shrimp. Not every one eats every friday, I think they eat every other week but I'm not 100% sure. Cool fish when eating. I have small led moon lights on at night when I feed them. It's enough light to see that huge gaping mouth :)

Thank you for the help. I don't have any really hiding place for them is that ok? Or will stress hurt them? I tong feed them rainbow fish with the lights on. I had CL and didn't know how easy they stressed and got ick and lost a some due to my lack of knowledge. I don't want a repeat with these guys.

Mine love to hide. They come out at night and swim around if they are hungry. If they just eat they swim in the corner of the tank pointing head up kinda like keeping the food down or something? After a few hours or the following day after eating they hide for a week or so until they get hungry again I guess?
Basically, I see mine once a week on Friday LOL

Never tong feed them. Let them find the food or they will only feed from the tong.

?

They live in an aquarium. :screwy:
Wait, you’re going to reintroduce this endangered condor into the wild…………….

They still won't eat. I tried worms and market shrimp. Even soaked them in garlic and nothing. Am I doing something wrong? I may get them 2 fat goldfish just so they eat.
