You'll be lucky if the loaches don't kill your gulper catfish first by choking it with their spines if it attempts to gobble them. 6" loaches are extremely dangerous when swallowed and if you were talking about clown loaches, I don't even know if you'd be willing to spend hundreds of dollars to feed your gulper catfish those fish.

catfish especially the ones that have big mouths will eat whatever they can inhale

I thought the clown loaches are faster and may affect the outcome. Guess not. They are cool fish but they eat everything.
