Hey, newtothis, are they fancy or feeder guppies, and how many did you start out with? How many were males/females? Thanks.

Just common feeder guppies. I don't know what the male to female ratio was when I bought them.

You can net them and ship them to me.......:D I have plenty of lil monsters that could use a good chase. :nilly: Or you could get a baby O. :naughty: You won't have a problem at all after that. Your convicts should eat them too.;)

getting a cat of some sort would be a good suggestion, but I don't have experience with cats that stay small enough to fit in a 20 gallon, so I'm not sure if the little cats would make a meal out of them or not. You could also try a bichir, although I think that would also outgrow the 20.
On another note, have you talked to your LFS about maybe being able to bring them in for credit? It may not be much, but if you're going in anyway, a couple bucks off of a purchase you would be making with or without credit is always nice. I know mine takes in cons and fancy guppies, not sure about the feeder guppies though.

You could try a pictus catfish. They don't get very large from my experience. I've only had one at 5 inches or so max. They love guppies. :)

My lfs will not take cons in anymore. They also won't take the guppies.

I've decided to get the arrowhead puffer; a 20 gallon should be fine for one since they just sit on the bottom of the tank and only move to eat.

Surprised the angels and firemouths dont clean them up,guppies or any small fish dont last a day with mine.

I have a cichlid (Aulonacara sp.) that didn't want to eat the one guppy in my tank. It was just a little guy. I picked out the smallest guppies at the lfs cuz the peacock was so small. He just didn't want to eat it. Finally I had to leave for the weekend and he didn't get any food. When I got back, the guppy was gone. You could try to just skip a feeding or two.

the best thing to do is put them with your cichlids or get you a couple oscars they'll take care of them for you.
