Guppies

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Guppies are the easiest fish to breed. Just add males and females in a tank and there will be fry before long.

Only challenge is that they eat their own fry, so either provide dense plantation where the fry can hide or pull the fry from the tank when they are born.

anyone have experience breeding guppies

Sorry I am literally laughing out loud.

I don't know if anyone doesnt have experience breeding them.

Step #1:
Set up tank

Step #2:
Buy guppies ratio 1:3 (as mentioned above)

Step #3:
Blink or look away for 1-2 seconds :P

Step #4:
Remove fry or else they WILL be eaten.

Mine never ate their fry even in bare tanks.
They will breed as long as temp is above 70 degrees, remember red is recessive, yellow or grey fins are dominant traits.

Yeah just put some plants in the tank or container (I've bred them in rubbermaid totes, lol ) hornwort works well, but you can use anything that lets tiny fish hide. Then you put at least one male and a few females in and let them breed. They WILL breed! If they stop breeding it means they're either eating their babies and/or they've overpopulated the tank, so remove some and make sure the water's good and breeding should resume.
