Guppy breeding ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
let me get this strait....i could go to the fish store and get some pants, pregger guppies, and a female thats ready to pop in days?............i guess your whole world can change with one visit to the lfs. lol just funnin thanks for the feed back i really do appreciate the feedback. just had to throw some humor in there.

I would just go get some feeder guppies from your lfs, around me they are 6 for $1, they are usually just under breeding size. For $10 bucks I have 60 guppies ready to breed in about a month, feeder guppies IME are more hardy than fancy guppy's which have a tendency to have higher mortality rates during birth.

My question is can guppies give birth in salt water? I know you can adjust adults to full saltwater, but can they get pregnant and give birth to healthy babies in full salt water? Wanting to know for possible salt water feeders.

if you want to raise your chances of success then add more females to males. I always went with 4-1 ratio of females to males. if you really want to get crazy try selective breeding with colors and finnage.

your one shy female is being timid because she is not ready to be fertilized. all is good as she will come around.
