My guppy had a baby.. in my planted tank
will it live if i put it in a plastic tank with an air pump.. i might find an extra heater lying around... then i could put that in there... but there would be no filtration.. is that ok?
or should i try to see if my LFS has a breeder thing to keep in the tank.. so the baby does not get eaten or sucked up the filter
i know its only a baby guppy.. but i have always wanted to raise one

ive heard that some people put their guppies in tanks with no filter next to a window and it creates algae that help the guppies breed so i think it should be fine without a filter. your guppy only had 1 baby?

I am by far no expert but I have had Fancytail guppies they can be removed and placed almost in anything for a while I just be sure to hand crush some of the usual food finely for the young. Believe me when I say breeding them is easier then rabbits my tank produces 10 to 20 every few weeks. They are hardy in that sence. :)

thank you

Any time lol just before warned they do breed to say the least i use to worry and protect but now its the natural order they populate that quickly. Also if you breed them for extended length of times introduce new blood lines in from time to time or you will have sub standard breeding after a few years.
If you could only bottle a guppies stamina viagra would be out of business.

hahaha.. ok thank you

yeah the little guy will do fine. i would look around the tank u might have more in there.

i have been.. its planted thought
so its hard to find them.. but im looking

Chances are your guppy ate the rest of the fry. They weren't called "million fish" for nothing. Add plenty of plants, some will survive, I'd forget even raising the fry.

My daughters guppy tank seems like the adults don't eat the fry, at least I can't tell. Theres at least 40 of them in there(its hard to count when they don't sit still). 1 male 3 female adults. If all you have is guppys I wouldn't worry about the fry.
