guppy preggers?

i have never had a fish have babies. i bought just a pair of guppies to see if they would breed and her belly has a black ball in it. does that mean she is preggers or is it when it gets bigger you know shes got babies in there?

Doesn't look like she is pregnant, are you sure the other one is a male?

i guess you cant ever be 100% sure. we just bought the 2 of them a couple days ago. petsmart had a tank of males and a tank of females and we got one from each tank. the gold one on the right is the male and the red one is supposed to be female. how do you sex guppies? and how do you know when they are pregnant? i thought it was the black in her belly?

The black spot is a gravid spot. She will bloat up when she is preggo but she isn't far along if she is now. You'll be able to tell easily.

Males have longer tails and dorsals and no gravid spot.

The one u took a pic of is female. Need pic of male to make sure.

ohhh ok. i wasnt sure if the black spot meant she was preggers or what. i guess time will tell. im sure the other is male but ill get a picture of him anyway

Once she is close to having babies she will get really fat, looks like she has a pea in her stomach
