Its a female and male alright. You're fine. Just have to wait a couple weeks and she will be fatter. And then you'll kno for sure.
perfect thanks. also i read somewhere that she will refuse to eat when shes about to give birth. is this the best time to put her in the breeder container?
not all guppies are like this .... some are ravenous. She will start to look huge, move less, and seem to swim harder. Might take on a squarish shape. This is when you know.
ok cool. i know its not overly exciting but i will keep pictures posted. hopefully in a few weeks we will have some pictures of little ones. then maybe some of our cooler fish will frig and i can get more excited about this whole breeding process. anyone know about sexing hujeta gar, or pea puffers? id like a batch of them haha
I did guppies for several years. I had problems with the breeder boxes as they were just too damn small and on occasion when I would put the female in when I thoughts she was getting fairly close they would start aborting the babies early and I would lose the whole batch. I found plants in the tank worked a hell of a lot better than moving the female around. Almost all the babies made it and it was a ton easier. Just my .02
both parents will be left in the tank at all times too... unless i put them in with the oscar and dempsey lol
