I know it's not much of a monster, but i got home from work tonight and all my guppies are hanging at the top of the tank, head slightly up, and touching the surface, finning very mildly. they all look linke they are in a trance. one is even laying on top of a leaf. are they "sleeping" ? never seen them act like that before. i don't think they are stressed.

From my experiences, this is typically a sign of some kind of water quality issue. It could be a sudden spike in ammonia or nitrites, or it could be a lack of oxygen due to poor water movement or warming temperatures.

I would recommend doing a water change and see if that helps...

they wern't breathing heavily, and i had done a pretty heavy water change yesterday morning at least 12 hours before this, they are acting fine now. seemed an awful lot like what clownfish do at night.
