I set up a spare 10 gallon tank so that I can have a fish tank for my 4 and 5 year old nieces and they picked out some neon tetras, Platies and and guppies. I got two females and one male. I have never kept liver bearers before. I knew that one of the females was very gravid. Currently I have about 25 2 day old fry. Any one know how to raise them. I have liquid fry food. I got a picture of the two day old fry.

Very easy to feed(at least for me anyway)
Hard boil an egg and take the yolk out after it has been hard boiled and smoosh it into a paste. They should eat that.

You can buy ready made baby foods at most big pet stores, livebearer fry eat it up readily. You can also take regular flake food and smash it into a powder as well. The two biggest threats to live bearer fry are the adult fish and power filter intakes. Avoid those two threats, feed twice a day and you should have very few problems.

baby guppies well just about any live bearer babies are easy to raise , just got to make sure theres plenty of cover for them and I use a mix hard boiled egg yoke mashed up real fine and I take some normal flake food and grind up with the yolk and feed that make sure not to over feed and before you know it they are grown I have about 50 guppies now , I only bought a male and female the other 48 is their babies so good luch and hope this helps =)

Actually, baby guppies don't even need fry foods. They will easily eat tiny bits of flake and crushed pellet foods. I'm sure they'll enjoy whatever you choose to feed them.

I tried the liquid fry food before I posted this. They seemed not to like. I am out of eggs so I put some finely crushed flakes and they ate it. Thanks for all the post. I will try to post pictures every once and a while. I thought of a question. How do get better strains and separate the males from the females, so I can get better strains in the future.

pick the pretty ones haha

Here they are five day old fry. The water is a little cloudy because I just mixed everything up because of a water change.

Guppies are so awesome I have a 20 gallon long tank that I have set up as a communtiy tank and I started off with 2 females and one male one of the females was very gravid they was both plain clear fined nothing fancy and the male was a yellow "snakeskin" they have had 5 sets of babbies now and I got 4 different breeds of fancy tail guppies from them yellow snake skins, green snakeskin, spotted red flame black tuxedo and green lyretail I cant wait to get my digital camera so I can start taking some pics of my fish to post them on here but I also have some other very pretty color combinations going I don't know what they are called they have a gray head dark blue body bright baby blue dorsal fin and a dark blood extra long tail fin ... basically what I am saying its hard to say what all different varieties your going to get out of that batch but really the only thing for sure is that your going to have some wonderful fish just wait another week or so and they will start getting their color in :D the only thing your going to have to worry about is where to put them when your tank gets full of them they breed all the time right now I have about 7 females that are about ready to pop anytime now ...
