Gut Loading Earthworms

are you asking if you kept your own earthworms what should you put in the soil? or are you talking about stuffing the earthworms?
Yes, I am going to be keeping and breeding them. So I want to know what to put in the soil for them to feed on that will have a good nutritional value for rays.
I started a compost for my worms. Dont know if they are breeding yet our not. I feed them coffee grounds, left over corn , bananna peels, i also found worm food at mejiers which is pretty much pure protein. I started with canadian worms bought then ive been catching them at night from my yard. They also eat dried grass and leaves. But i would like a little more info myself. Hope this helps.
what every was left over from your dinner.... im not saying what is fully in the compost mix because this soil is sold for a nice little penny(my buddy is a genius)and what im documenting is pretty dang amazing as well with the fish eating them.. but i can say the worms eat basically everything... dont have to be picky left over everything its compost not rocket science... but we do avoid coffee grounds 
they go right into the garden there better there anyway.. throw your left overs from veggies meat scraps

You need either red worms or african nightcrawlers. Use african nightcrawlers (trout worms) if you can since they are bigger.Florencebigfish;3093717; said:
If I can remember right I think alot of meats aren't very good to feed also. I started to look into this for myself but found it easier to buy bulk canadian nightcrawlers around here. I'll see if I can find a list of the bad.

if you are looking jsut to grow them and keep them breeding then red wigglers fed on corn meal (very cheap but they grow rocket fast on that) and then whatever is left over from your own foods. if you want to "gut load" the worm before you feed it to your rays, keep a second container with peat moss... throw the harvested worm in there for a few days and "gut load" them with wheat germ. its very high in fiber, vitamin E and protein. it would be great to pass that along into your rays. you can even try some ground up fish food on the top of the soil and let the worms work on that if you are really trying to "gut load" the worms.
