humm. did you just insult me? if so my fault and will keep it in mind.

expecting a death defying superhero act

I blame everyone that hyped the video

Hello; I started the thread with a simple title and the suggestion to take a peek. A couple of members referenced CHIPs tv show. Some hype I suppose, but not excessive.

The video is what it is. A real life event and not some superhero. I still think the officer did something extraordinary and there was a chance to be hurt.

Decades ago on the first day I went to work in the log woods in KY, the Log skidder driver offered me a ride up the mountain. I knew it was a test of sorts as the crew all watched. I rode up the mountain on the side of the Log Skidder. Everybody else hiked up. I was hanging on to the outside of the drivers cage in between the giant tires. Next day the the driver offered the same ride. The crew watched again. They figgured the first time I was too green to understand the implications. I was afraid but I climbed up between the wheels again. The foreman loudly told me to get down not to ride like that any more. In risky work the crew wants to know what you are made of and you will be tested in some way. I made the crew, kept the job and did not have to fight anybody.
If it was on a video it would have looked pretty tame but there was considerable risk. For those not familiar the skidder articulated in the middle of the frame for steering. The driver was skilled and kept the space between the wheels big enough to miss me The ride was rough and my hard hat bounced off the drivers cage many times. Sorry for the wool gathering.

That's the best thing about this world. You can be impressed by something and the next person (me in this instant) doesn't have to be. Neither of us is wrong for it though. Trying to force it down someone's throat though is just trying to bully me into agreeing with your opinion

wool gathering, my first day roofing, I was told to carry a 5g bucket of mastik up a 3 story ladder, a old fiber glass ladder. i was perhaps 90 pounds soaking wet at the time and had never climbed a ladder, and so the tests had begun.

Hello; As one who has more past than future, I could likely gather enough wool to figuratively make a sweater for many MFKers.
Went to the doctor yesterday. The more disturbing thing being the discovery that I am now almost two inches shorter than in my younger days. I had heard of this but did not realize it. I double checked when I got home. What a crock!

I read the title "guts", then read the posts on here, then read the article, all hyped up the video, then finally watched the video expecting a death defying superhero act. Instead I got some guy power walking to a slow moving vehicle and voiced my disappointment. If you choose to take that as cop hating that's on you. I blame everyone that hyped the video for getting my hopes up
Believe it or not, when I said it looked easy...I really meant it.(where did that 'I' come from in the post of mine?). I was not aware of the speed it was going.

I have heard about that kind of thing before....A few weeks ago I had my leg cut open and a cyst removed. The thing was almost as big as a raspberry and had to be sent off to be biopsied.I just got the results the other day and it is not cancerous or anything.....waaay off topic but how's that for wool?

Hello; Had some of those myself, not fun. Good that it was benign.. Probably not enough to be considerd impressive the way this thread is going. Now if you had your leg cut off and then reattached? Ah, never mind. The few days of waiting for the results can weigh on a persons mind.
