Yep,I'm no dumpster spelunker but most of my tanks are rescues from the sidewalk.I have even sold and given away a few.

I don't know about all this...but tell that dumpster diver to stop putting a good tank on the side like that on the ground. I'm just anal and would never rest the tank on a viewing side like that even if it had the plastic brace...LOL

I had about 1500 gallons of tanks in my house, and got over 1000 gallons of them free (or nearly free) from people disillusioned with the hobby.

Take what you can get.

yeah, its easier to just buy a tank so you know its not defective or something is wrong with it. besides especially if I found it in a dumpster I would probably just get an acrylic one for $100 on craigslist with stand light and filter
