Viktor, to answer your question about the duopalatinus peruanus . The fish in the picture on planet catfish is at least 10 inches judging by the net and leadline in picture . I have seen this same fish in pictures of tanks from asia where it was 12-14 inches. The fish I have is maybe 7 years in my care . He was about 3 inches when I received him

And I am not stuck on its ID being D.peruanus . Its just a reference by me to those 2 pictures ,the one pic with fish in the net ,and also the fish held up on pliers . I really dont know true name of fish

Appreciated. Thank you, mate. D. peruanus is one of the fish that I have never ever come across yet. Hence, it piqued my hoarder's interest.

Plus all the confusion around "jumper catfish"..., three exemplary threads:

Neither have I heard of Guyana piraiba before this thread of yours.

I love learning from peers, especially rare gems of knowledge like this one. One truly never knows what swims in the (virtually next door) hobbyist's tank! Thank you!

I wish we could see the alleged peruanus. If you willed.

And you're in FL!? Where at if I may ask? Maybe you are next door to me and I could come and see that enigmatic jumper catfish...
