I believe Crenicichla minuano is the smallest of the pikes down there if I remember right. Really pretty and fairly mellow.

Thanks Chris. I opted out of additional tankmates and picked up another pair with a very nice male. I'll let the best of the two sort it out.

The two males. The females are smaller and less colorful at the moment.

I know you opted out of tank mates but if anyone else is interested Dennison barbs are perfect for a gymno tanks requiring a cool down. They look great in a group of 7+ and temps from low 60's to low 80's they have great colors and are very peacefull. I have them with my Balzanii in an unheated tank.

Btw if you are interested in C. minuano let me know as in a week or two I'll finally be selling fry from one of my pairs. As Dark Pike said they are extremely mellow for pikes and I've kept the adults with a variety of Uruguayan cichlids, including Gymnos.
