AFD has 4 unsexed Gymnogeophagus Balzanii. The water temp is 78-80 there. Water is probably lower 70s to upper 60s. It’s supposed to be sunny tomorrow. Do I take my chances with them?
Balzanii can withstand lower temps but get every bit of 6-7" (or larger) so 4 of them in a 42g tub wouldn't work for much time.
Must the fish you put outside be permanently outside? Just about any small or medium Central American cichlid - Herotilapia (rainbow cichlids), Amatitlania, Crytoheros, etc. - would be great for the summer and fall. And probably be just fine through a few cooler days in the winter.
