Seems to me that he is spot on. Maybe dude should have done some research before commenting on this post.

Thank You for the explanation ( i was not aware of the meaning of the word ....). Still is not the way to further discussions.

i think the landlocked freshwater populations are not being exported. so you probably have a regular brackish one. that's just guess on my part. but who knows.

The importer said it was collected from a landlocked region, I paid that kind of money for it too. But of course it is impossible to know for sure without catching it yourself

Great acquisition...I'm a big fan of the FW/brackish morays. Li kept some G. polyurandon in FW for years if I'm not mistaken. Tremendous find if it is indeed from the landlocked area. That being said, I wouldn't mind adding a G. polyuranodon to one of my SW tanks as I did with S. sathete.

Nice eel, and you seem smart enough to transition to brackish if it starts getting sickly. If it is a true freshwater, awesome. If it starts doing poorly and it needs brackish water, you still have a neat eel.

glad to see you picked one up. The one i have is great. He is in a freshwater setup for over a year and thriving.
If you guys take the time to look up the scientific literature on this fish (which I will admit there isn't a ton of) it is believed to be a true freshwater fish, with some being found in very mild brackish water.

just curious who did you get him from?

I still have a hard time believeing any "true moray" could live in freshwater for extended periods of btime.
