Gymnothorax tile

I think Gymothorax tile look great. But I think they do best and thrive better in full salt. Its just a LFS mistake which got people thinking fresh - brackish was good as well. I disagree, but looks like your are doing great. Congradulations!
 
I just recently got one myself. I have another moray species with him in brackish water. The main thing with this species is they are easy to keep and are one of the few truly brackish water species around if you can get them to eat. They tend to go on hunger strikes when moved. They are supposed to reach around 24 inches. Mine so far hides a lot. My other eel is not the least bit shy. So far the 4 fish I have in my 55 get along well but 2 of the 4 stay hidden and rarely venture out my toad fish and the G. tile. My other eel keeps his head stuck out of his tree root ornment or comes out. I am hoping over time the tile will venture out more. I have had him now about 2 weeks.
 
Well, i finaly got one. He is about 12" or so and looks great. He is out abd about already swiming around and hidding. Only thing is,it dont look much like the ones i seen on line or in the pics. He is all greed, dark dark green with a lighter green strip alonge his back. No spots atall. just a solad color. Will get pics as soon as i can Just got him in today and has not ate yet. Would not think he would but was hopeing. Tried silver sides and frozen krill. Also though in a few babbie mollies from my hatchery. Mabey he will get them tonight, not sure. Have the lids duck taped down and from the looks of it, only way he could get out is if he gets in to the HOB some how and pushes the top of it off. BUT, i have all the food and things on top so i dont think he will be able to do that. anyway, thanks for the help all
