Gymnotus stenoleucus?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Love to see some pics of the knife! That tank has a very cool driftwood scape! A nice pipe especially the see thru Lees Ghost tubes are very cool 😎
You’ll have the knife trained in no time eating from your hand!
Thank you

Yes ive thought about a clear tube but it wouldnt really fit the theme im going for, i hope itll show itself more now its in the other tank.

Did i say it was in the other tank already? I guess the biggest hujeta decided to be a jerk last night and knacked the gymnotus his tail, its not too bad but it is visible.

I decided it cant wait any longer and it needed to move for its own good, decided on keeping the guppys old filters in this tank to help with bacteria and i am keeping a very very close eye on water parameters.

More pictures will come soon i promise but its been a busy day doing all the water tests, water change and catching + moving the gymnotus so itll probably be somewhere this week, its hiding right now anyways after exploring the tank for a little bit but im sure we'll see more of it soon enough

Sweet glad you could save the knife. I remember that giant ghost knife on YouTube I messaged asking to purchase & gave same advice about the tail since they had a giant bichir in with him.
Eventually the bichir got the tail & the ghost passed away. I really was devastated the knife was really huge a real showstopper.
Guy had the ultimate setup.

Guy had the ultimate setup but wouldn't listen.
Some people are just hard of hearing i guess, o have been warned and took precautions but still wanted to try, unfortunately my hujeta's were a little less chill asi thought theyd be, well just the larger female i guess, never saw no issues with the others.

Thought about housing the biggest hujeta somewhere else but just couldnt do it, i made promise to care for these fish in the best way i can so thats what i will do, im just a beginner that reads up on things a bit more than most people do and try not to make any stupid decisions but so far so good.

i havent seen the hujeta break the gymnotus tail but i suspect it highly, however the "cave" it used to hang out in was kinda small for it to turn around and it might've broken it by itself on accident even though i think chances are small.

The knife fish is what my biggest goal was in the hobby so i definitely dont want to screw this up, i love the hujeta's and all but the knife just has something special, ones a true monster by habits the other by looks, just a shame it doesnt work together at least at these sizes

That ghost looks amazing but the tank looks over stocked to me, at least in my opinion its too busy, i like to look at my tanks to relax, maybe have some action during feeding, dont mind if the fish are busy sometimes but rather not all the time.

My guppys are also always begging for food as if theyre never eaten before in their life and im not a huge fan of it to be honest, luckily the only reason i have them is to live feed the hujeta's so i could look into getting something else easy to breed that i can feed to the hujeta's every once in a while, something that behaves a little more natural.

and maybe something that isnt as inbred and weak as some of the guppys i got, even though they are breeding like crazy now, the first batch i had did not go well..

Anyways im getting off topic here lol

Small update, the knife is in the new tank, it comes out during the night now.

Ill try to slowly get it used to feeding in the daylight.

As u can see its tail end got snapped thats why i made the choice to do an emergency move to the other tank.

It does not look like its bothering the fish too much luckily.

I got some more shorts on my yt channel in case u want to see more and i will try to upload more videos of the gymnotus and the hujeta's soon.

Its hard to get good image in the dark though so dont expect hd quality lol
