It doesn't mess with the snakeheads. Just try to go on my tread post.I have some old pics. Too lazy to take pics as I'm away most of the time.

No other knifefish can be compare to an aba aba when it comes to aggression as the aba aba will trash them all. Lol!

What is the growth rate like on a young aba aba, I understand a lot of people have some difficulty growing out the little ones.

Growth rate will pretty much depends on the owner as regular water change, feeding schedule and how much it eats and the nutritional value of the food it eats and size of tank and if it's often stress will determine it's growth rate.

Very true, but I meant more like what can I expect under optimal conditions for this species?
 
i just got one today (hope it's a tiger anyway). that fish place in lancaster pa has them for $30. they're small though 4-6". i dropped him in and within 5 minutes of being in the tank, it started eating bloodworms! it seems tough and confident, i'll keep you updated. here's some quick pics for ya.

Nope, you got yourself a Zebra Knifefish. Gymnotus pedanopterus
Had one myself, still a great Knife. ;)
