Odds increase with more fish as juveniles. Not saying it could not happen, but the numbers are against you with 4, vs. 10. If your serious about getting a pair long-term, get serious about stocking short-term. You will find homes at a profit for the others if a pair develops.

I completely agree. The store I got these from only had 4 otherwise I would have bought more for sure. That is why I started this thread asking about pairing advice.

Are you raising out fry baldtaxguy?

I know Rapps has some right now, so that is another option.

I have fry, but they're tiny at 1/4." Jeff's match up to the size of yours. I'd get a half-dozen sent to your door.

I had a group of 6 that I got at around 4". They grew pretty fast and were fairly undemanding fish. I eventually sold off 4 and kept a large pair that were about 14" for the male and 11" for the female, they were F0 as well. Keep the water clean and they will grow fairly quickly. But they are also pretty aggressive fish....surprisingly.
