The fish on the second photo is H. Labridens...NOT Steindachneri. If they came out of the same body of water, I would say White Labridens. Definitely not the Steindachneri.

Well Mo, if anyone would know it would be you but honestly i don't see how you can tell with the quality of those pics. The glass is so smugged I can't really make out some of those pics.

Be very wary of unknown sellers with super rare fish!

I agree. A few years ago i bought a Large Micropthalmus off Aquabid and paid like $100 for it on and I had never heard of the seller. Some of you might even remember this. It was a bid for PU only and i talked the guy into shipping. Well the fish arrived dead and I've always wondered about that whole transaction. The fish was so cold almost like it had been pulled out of the freezer, and i always wondered it it did in fact come out of the freezer. Anyway, now I'm much more careful about who i buy fish from. This is just a little story that I remembered and i'm not in anyway saying this guy is running any kind of scam. He more than likely isn't. I can see how your could get the Labridens confused with the fish in question if thats the case.

Certain fish it's relatively easy. I have all four "flavors" of Labridens and have had them since small fry. The "White labridens" (aka...Pantostictum) just LOOK like Labridens. The Steindachneri have a very unique head and jaw shape. I'm certain of what it ISN'T.

So these are labridenswhite?

That's my guess based on where he said he got them and from what I can discern from the shabby images.

I think he has one Steindachneri and one Labridens.

why don't you simply ask the seller for clearer pics? if they refuse they are bs

ABSOLUTELY!

What's wrong with confirmed the I.D. of a fish before you guy it? The seller might get upset about it, but that's his problem.

If it is indeed a steini, that auction could get interesting!!!!!! :WHOA:
