H2overglow Stealthbox set up

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Coming out of the box they are 1.5? Wow then you'll be fine as 1.5" not under syphon can handle near to 1200gph. From the little I have seen and read that you've posted to my understanding it is two 1.5" holes supply the box and four 1" go to the sump. If I am wrong then it's great news for you! If I'm right it's still good news for you! Either way a win...lol.
To me 1 pump or two pumps doesn't matter but if you have 1 and it dies then you get 0 flow with 2 you'll get half flow at least something.
I would not waste money on the syphon stopper. I strategically placed hole in the return pipe will take care of any back syphon when the pump is shut off.
Yep. When I talked to the guy he said the inside of the box pvc piping is 1.5 inches. :) and I think I may go with the 2 seperate pumps just because like you said, what if one goes out. Then I'd have to order one and wait for it to get here etc ya know? Otherwise I guess I could order 2 of the dc pumps and keep one put up for that problem in general. Any suggestion on a good dc pump I should get?

Like in the other thread jebao pumps have done well for me recently.
During my salt days I used to run reefflo pumps not DC ones. At my last house I was using a hammerhead to feed all my tanks off one sump like I did when I had salt. Those are pretty much bullet proof. Expensive and not energy friendly.
The lfs I work at and have personally shopped at for many years recommends sicce or vortex for most of the return pumps. High dollar but also high quality. In all reality any pump can and will fail eventually. A lot have replacement parts available if something should happen it can usually be fixed by the user.

Well now that you mention it. I was told by a friend of mine, that he can get me 2 reeflo submersible pumps for 130$ a pop. Which isnt to bad. He told me I should get the 2 green ones (on the graph) which are the 130$ each.
