Had eggs but they ate them :(

I just bought a female dovii for my male. and 2 days later after the head shaking and flirting she laid eggs and both protected them... 2 days after that i came home from practice and the eggs were gone but they still protected the spot... its been almost a week guess im just waiting till she lays them again. here are some pics...

if they are still protecting the same spot they may have moved the eggs to a safer place?

Yeah it seems more likely that the moved it rather than eating them....

Have you had a look around to other spots or anything?

yea i looked around... they are roaming the tank moreso now. but still returning to the same corner.. i didnt see any eggs... hopefully they surprise me

hmm if they are roaming the tank then they most likely ate them. if they were still protecting eggs i think they would be staying around them.

you never know though....

Slight chance that they moved them. At least they are a prven pair now.

if stressed or their first time..or if they are immature it is common that they eat them... next time they may be fine.. as long as he is ferilizing them
