Had to share this pic

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yes, most definitely a female Crenicichla lenticulata. As to which variant it is, thats a tougher question. LoL

There are quite a few lents available right now, there are some on Aquabid (wetspotcx), and Rapps as well. There are few floating around here and there, just have to know where to look. ;)

Be advised though that the lents that Rapps has and the lents that are on Aquabid are most likely not the same variant as the one you posted pictures of. I know for sure the ones on Aquabid aren't, as they are the same variant as mine, which are Rio Atabapo.

Rapps lents are definitely something nice though, and if you can afford it, you should definitely give it a try!!! They will be gorgeous as adults. :)

Thanks everyone for the replies , I want some of these bad! checked out TUIC and seen he still has them :D but the trick is going to be talking my wife into letting go of that much $$$ ... I will find a way to sweet talk her into it :D

what size tank would everyone say they need for a pair and also can they be kept in tank mates if so how big of a tank would that be ?

Minimum tanks size would be a 75gal, and thats the BARE minimum for a pair. That honestly really testing your luck though, so 125gal or larger is optimal honestly.

Yes they can be kept with tankmates, you just have to use good judgement when you pick them out. Overly aggressive fish can work, but might end up getting the snot beat out of them if they punk the pike too much. Hoplarchus, severums, chocolates, Herichthys, and several other SA/CA cichlids work great with them. :)

Rapps only has one left. . . better get on it before its too late. ;)

awe man.. I was half right... hehe beautiful fish. gonna have to see what happens to my vennys. may get rid of them if they don't pair up and try something abit nicer since they have been a great learning experiance.. though they are so personable.
