Hag Fish

I am watching an episode of Dirty Jobs and Mike Rowe is going on a Hag Fish boat. Don't know much about them so it could be interesting.

I think they are interesting.

Its really ugly and is usually mistaken as an eel. The hagfish (which is not really a fish) has no vertabrae or jaw and its skull is made of caratilage. They use thier muscles, which are segmented against their notochord to swim. They are scavangers and feed off of dead and drying things. They also seceret a slime that keeps other scavangers away from their food as well as them. They can make so much of this stuff, they can kill their attacker with it.

Ok so what do We use hagfish for? I don't get why we would want to go catch a crap load of them. And if you tell me it's in cosmetics ill laugh my @$$ off.
