i want to upgrade the filter on my 29 gallons right now i have a whisper power 30 on it and im looking at either the aqua clear 70(300gph) or the emperor 280(280gph) i dont know which one to pick i like the bio-wheel but ive heard aqua clears are really good filters which one do u prefer?
 
both would do fine, id go with the aquaclear myself; offers more water movement and cheaper price

Without a doubt, Marineland. I like the solid bottom construction, American made, biowheel, customer support, and longevity.

American made is nothing to be proud of. Them lil' Asians do it faster, cheaper, higher quality, and more efficient.
 
aquaclear is the way to go. you take and replace the carbon sack with a second spiong and run two sponge sin it for dubble the media. when bottom get dirty remove bottom spopnge lower upper sponge rinse the dirty one and put back on top
 
I have to add another vote for aquaclear. Love the media basket. I also remove the carbon. Best hang on power filter out there in my opinion.
 
does the bio wheel make a big difference with bacteria or would the same amount of bacteria be on both filters?
