i bought a so called malawi cichid today it turnes out that it was a red devil
the so called elipse catfish is actually a sun cat
they have their texas cichlids mixed up with their jack dempseys
their pacus use to be in the semi-agressive section
their black ghost knife was in the tropical comunity section
they are so confusing there that they confuse themselves

I think I saw Algae Wafers and crickets in the semi-aggressive section.
 
it's not just petsmart that will do that kind of thing that just shows you have to do your homework b4 you buy any fish

It is semi-agressive and may require salt, should be kept alone.
 
I took my tank water into a LFS to be tested for nitrate/nitrite/ammonia. I was using pure ammonia to cycle it and explained it to the guy. After he comes back, he tells me my waters fine. I ask him what does he mean its fine. He says theres nothing in it, no ammonia/nitrate/nitrite. I tell him thats impossible, i've been dumping in ammonia everyday. He tells me i have to use fish in order to cycle it.

Well anyway i go to petsmart and get a test kit, i have 0 ammonia, 0 nitirties, and like 40ppm of nitrates. The #$#@$#@ LFS guy didn't test my nitrates correctly, not only that, but he was extremely rude to me, talking like I was an idiot for using ammonia to cycle. Well needless to say, i'm never buying anything from there again.
 
Sadly.. Most PetSmarts are full of idiots. Some have good staffs and actually have a few knowledge people on staff at times. The PetSmart near my is excellent, but then again I used to work there and taught everyone alot about fish and never to talk out there ass.

:yuck: The PetCo near me though is alot like the stories I hear about all the chain stores..
