Haitiensis compatibility??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I currently have a huge Black Nasty (about 14 or 15 inches) housed in a 270 with a big Jag (about 12 inches) and a Green Terror that is about 8 inches. The Nasty runs the show....no doubt. But he also is still a model of health. So far so good. Oddly enough he seems completely indifferent to the Jag. He shows some aggressiveness to the Green Terror who is standing his ground but there have not been any real conflicts. The Tank looks great with the big Cichlids in it.

Wow!! It is nice to see someone successful with Black Nasty or Beani in a community tank, good job :) I would be interested in nowing what are you feeding your Black Nasty, what temperature do you keep your tank at, how do you have your tank landscaped? I wish I could open up my divider and let the Grammodes, and Beani coexist together :( At least now we no that it is possible :)

If I can ever get any pics worth posting, I would be glad to. I don't have the whole "Digital Photography of an Aquarium" thing figured out yet. My pics either come out too dark, or with a flash on the glass. Either way it is difficult to see the fish.

Thats some positive news....I guess the nasty is letting the other two
live for now but if he had a female with him then things might be different....
Thanks.

Oh absolutely. If I were to put a female Jag in there then the two Jags would probably kill the Nasty and the GT. That always changes the dynamics when you have a pair. Needless to say I won't be putting any females in there....

My haits got along fine in the african peacock tank they grew up in. now my males about 11inches and kills dithers n everything else i put in the tank. my female is worst. 600 gallons may work, grow them up together, set boudaries so they wont have to invade each others space much. jus watch n have a plan B.
