They are in the country but I haven't seen any around for several years now. If it is a melanurum, fishbee will have to spill his source as I have been looking for quite a while now. That or tell me how much he wants.:naughty: I still stand with synspilum though.
 
Melanurus...melanin...means more dark pigment. And with all the black along the ventral side of the fish...

Who really knows without a full body shot (and even then...).

true, but ime melanarus tend to be orange bodied with a red head and quite a bit of black on the stomach/sides. They tend to not have the other rainbow of colors that synspilum can have like the blues shown in this pic. Synspilum commonly have a yellow to orange body, red head, and then black, blue and sometimes other color along the sides as well. :)
