I don't really believe that. In my mind, it looks half full, b/c the way I would picture half empty would be with the bottom half being air and the top half being water (I honestly have no clue why, that's just how I picture it for some reason).

Half full or half empty is a directional term. If you are pouring something into the glass then it's half full. If you are pouring it out then it's half empty.

If it's just sitting there stagnant like that then it's sinply a half glass of something.
