Did anyone go to the Hamburg show today? If you did, did you get anything good?

I didn't pick up anything (outside feeders), though I heavily considered the Croc Monitor that was there. That is my ultimate "some day I will be the best enclosure possible and find myself one" pet. Many, many years down the road but it was wonderful to see one in real life, up close today. The mislabeled Blue Tegu was alway a heavy consideration today, but eh, maybe some other time.

Bunch of interesting things there today, some really scary vendors, but eh I suppose there's always a few. Loved the Ts, a lot more than I've seen before... some really cool species. My friend had a field day with the guy clearing out his Crested Gecko stock, she bought a small colony of the things, haha. Fun show, though I'm interested in seeing what becomes of it. A lot of the vendors were talking about laws going into effect next week or the week after limiting what they'll be able to bring. I imagine this is about the post that's a few threads down? *smh*

Hey I was there. I picked up another Red-Cheeked Mud Turtle (hope it turns out to be a male), a baby red Crested Gecko (don't know what I was thinking) and my grand prize: a male Yellow Ackie Monitor.

I wanted to go but I thought it was a few months away still........

I missed an Ackie!? ...oh, I hate you. Pics, pics now!

And was it a good morph CG or just a good deal? Just looked up Red-Cheeked Mud Turtle, that's a very pretty looking species. But again, Yellow Ackie? Awesomeness, lol

There's also the White Plains and LI coming up next month and in April (which is when Hamburg will be again). ^_^

Okay thanks.I'm not really set up to keep any herps right now but I like going to the shows when I can anyhow and one day I may luck up and someone might actually have a coconut crab for sale lol.

Yeah, I didn't see him at first. I happened to bump into an Aquariacentral member there and he directed me to the table. I brought the price down a lot because he had a cut foot from a prior fight with a cage mate. He's in quarantine now but I hope to introduce him to my 2 females within a month.

This crested was cheap and had a interesting red morph. I hope it turns out to be a male so I can pair it with my red female next year. I'm just going to have to wait for it to grow out some.

I have a female Red Cheek Mud Turtle that I would like to breed so I've been trying to find a male for the last 2 years. I bumped into this one and thought I'd take a gamble but if I were a betting man I think this young turtle might end up being a female. Oh well!

If they legalize coconut crabs I'm next in line after you!

I didn't go to Hamburg, but I got a crack at some of the leftovers today at the Steel City Reptile Expo; it seemed like half of the vendors were new sellers on their way back from Hamburg. I saw that croc monitor as well as a ton of other cool stuff such as a vendor who specialized in giant geckos. I ended up with four new tarantulas for way less than expected.

He's a nice looking monitor, definitely a nice buy. And I like the coloration on the Crestie, the spotting is nice, too. Maybe you can get some red dalmatians in the future ^_~ (and then sell me one, lol). Anyway, hope that turtle turns out to be a male... at what age/size can it be definitively sexed?

...and I don't know where I'd put it, but I would so love a coconut crab, haha. I saw a blue one, it was wicked looking. Didn't know they weren't legal, just never thought of them as a pet trade animal?
