Hamburg Show

I was there.. crazy crowd once again.. I was stuck at my tables most of the day, so I didn't get to walk around much..

He's a nice looking monitor, definitely a nice buy. And I like the coloration on the Crestie, the spotting is nice, too. Maybe you can get some red dalmatians in the future ^_~ (and then sell me one, lol). Anyway, hope that turtle turns out to be a male... at what age/size can it be definitively sexed?

Thanks and yes he's got some very nice color to him. Hopefully he'll make some nice babies with my two high red contrast females.

We'll see what this crested grows into. If it's a male I would definitely love to see what babies I can get. I always have people asking me for reds!

This turtle is about 1-2 years old. Probably at least another year before I know the true sex. If it ends up another female, oh well! Males are usually easier to find when it comes to most reptiles so I haven't given up hope yet. :)

If they legalize coconut crabs I'm next in line after you!

Either I forgot or didn't know that they were illegal, just something I've always wanted to have.

I know they're highly endangered in some areas of the world and back in the 80's it was on the Red List species of concern list. I'm pretty sure we had a thread about it a couple of years ago in here. If I recall Oddball knows a good deal about them.

thanks... I sure hope the OP didn't include me with that scary comment... well not my animals anyway : )

No, no not you. I'm not even sure which vendor you are at the moment, though I'm sure we talked... I talk to everyone, especially vendors. I love learning about the animals, people's personal stories, etc. So, if a short haired girl talked your ear off at any point... I'm sorry and "hi!" lol. And if not, I'll be sure to stop by at the next show! ^_^

Nah, the scary comment was about a few vendors who tried to sell my friend some really inappropriate animals by completely lying about their "personalities", care requirements, adult size, etc. All really cool animals, but not appropriate pets for her especially with false info and some of which (I'm properly over exaggerating due to protectiveness) I found to be out and out dangerous. I don't enjoy people who do that, sales and business shouldn't be done like that. -_-
