Hammerhead becoming endangered

I worked at a store years ago and we had small bonnet threads in a large tank.They were priced at five hundred dollars each and a guy came in and bought all three of them.
That's a wonderful thought for everything but honestly.. if he's asking a forum are they becoming endangered rather then just do a small bit of research on Google then I doubt he can care for one. (To the OP, I am not trying to insult you, I don't know what kind of care you can/could provide but the fact is 99.8% of the people on here couldn't and they will admit it)
By any chance do you know what size tank they were going in? Coz im guess to house all three it must have been huge...

I don't remember.It was back in the late nineties.I doubt he had the kind of tank that could accommodate those fish for the long term.

Many people buy fish they can't accommodate for long. Sad but true. Who knows, but maybe he was the exception or maybe they ended up in a real aquarium. 99% chance not.
Thank you everyone for your encouragement. I guess many hammerheads are being put on the endangered species list. The hammerhead my petstore says he will get me is a scalloped hammerhead shark. I am going to sell my aripimas and start setting up for the hammerhead. Does anyone know I'd the scalloped hammerhead is endangered of being placed on the list? It will suck of one of the most badass fish is taken of the free market.
No one, and I mean no one, is going to be selling Scalloped Hammerheads to the public. If you know someone who says he has one, he's lying. If you think you have the resources for one, you're wrong. If you think you should get one, think again, because you're wrong.
The best thing that could happen to an animal like a Hammerhead Shark would be to be taken off the free market.

Do you mean sphyrna lewini? If so, and you have a 30' by 20' by 10' tank, feel free to post a pic.
Even that I think is probably way too small.
Nvm...just way too small as they grow up to 13' and being sharks need to swim constantly.
And they are schooling fish.
