Sorry just saw your post. What you have there is Ageneiosus marmoratus, they grow to about 12" and will eat whatever will fit in their mouth like most catfish. They are very active and swim almost constantly. I feed mine mostly floating pellets, they seem to really love koi pellets for some reason, and cut up and whole smelt. They aren't aggressive so you need to watch what you keep them with. They are slow growers so don't expect any explosive growth from them, maybe an inch every 6 months once they hit about 8". They are fairly tolerant of water conditions and ranges. They are much more colorful when younger, but are striking as adults with their whale like look. Temp range would be from the low 70's up to about mid 80's but make sure if your keeping them in warmer water to keep the water well oxygenated. They are fairly uncommon but I don't think they are rare just not imported very often.
