I could get about 3,800 gph with a barracuda from the 3 sumps and I was thinking now a mag drive 24 through a nu clear in line and a 25watt uv sterilizer. Would 3,800gph and 2 marineland 4s, 1 eshopps 300, 1 nu clear inline and a 25 watt uv keep that crystal clear?

Its for goonch, nile perch, arowana, gar, oscar, and red tail? So if I go with the hammerhead, it would be like 4,300gph, is that too much current in the tank?
I wouldn't think so. You'll lose maybe 500-700 gph with headloss, possibly a bit more, so you'll turn your tank around 6-7x per hour. With 4 1" returns you should be able to direct the flow so there isn't too much current for the fish, but you've got some monsters going in there so the more flow the better IMO

Thats what I was thinking, their gonna get big and eat a ton, ie, lots of waste, the one issue i have is that the 2 sumps max gph is 1400 each
and the eshopps is 1200 gph, for a total of 4000gph. Now that hammerhead even with 12' head is going to be 4,400gph (based on reeflo's website), should I get another eshopps 300 to make up for that 400gph difference, and which with yet another eshopps, it would be filtered better, or is 4 huge wet drys and an inline way too overkill?
