I'm doing this because I'm pretty excited. Just thought you guys should know that my TSN lumpy eats from my hand, and let's me pet him, lol. I've not really heard of another tsn eating from someone's hands, or being petted before. Ok, so this thread is about catfish eating from your hands, and letting you pet them. This is where we can all post stories, pictures, and links to vids of catfish being hand fed, and petted! I'll have to post some pics on here after I get home from work, but feel free to share everyone.

well my new gulper cat absolutely loves to be pet, if you hold your hand in the tank he keeps bumping into my hand till i rub his belly. But he wont eat at all yet none the less hand feed... hes to busy playing and wanting to be pet. Maybe i should turn off the powerhead for a while and show him its time to stop playing and start eating

I'm sure a cat with an appetite like a gulper will come around eventually!

Not sure. Never kept one myself. Hopefully someone with more expirience will chime in, but it would depend on weather or not they perfere slow current or fast current!

my rtc loves to be messed with,he feels almost dry kinda like fine grit sand paper but my rtc/tsn only lets me pet a little thats ok because he feels like snot ,kinda slimy lol

yeah, both my rtc, and my rtc x tsn like to be petted also. My MRTC hybrid would assume I die than to let me pet it. My 37" rtc x tsn hybrid swims up for me to pet him even when he won't eat. Everyone tells me to just get a dog. I like catfish, not dogs lol. Ok, I like dogs too, but I'd rather have a catfish. My rtc just lays flat on the bottom when I pet him, as does lumpy my deformed tsn. They are all hand fed.

Well at least now I know that my rtc and tsn are not special ...lol thanks. Mine love it too. I can say it took a lot longer to get the tsn to hand feed vs. the rtc. My kids love to feed them and show them off to their friends.

Cool, get up some pics of hand feeding or provide some links to videos. I love to see other people handfeeding their catfish. I'll have to see if I can find some of mine lol.

I had a rtc, that was hand tame. It would come up to the top of the glass and you could pet it and feed it. It did not care. Just give it time, Most fish get used to you over time.
