if it stressed them out so much i dont see why in the heck it would eat from your hand or even rush to the glass when you come by.

Thats cool for such a small sized fish to respond to you that way, looks like you are on your way to having a real pet fish.

Your sister is right. Presumably you're talking about handfeeding where you submerge your hand in the tank water. While it's not harmful to do it occasionally to clean your tank with a SPONGE, putting your hand into the water repeatedly will be bad for the fish. Reasons include possible chemical contamination along with the inevitable natural oils that go from your skin to the water.

But she is saying it is stress not anything chemical wise unless you are dunking your whole handor groping the fish i dont see a problem.

I hand feed my big aro and my 2' RTCxTSN almost every feeding. and trust me they are not stressed at all.

I have to hand feed my eels or else they would never get any food. The CAs and SAs eat it all before the eels can get to it.

i only hand feed one of my fish and thats because hes the only one hungry enough all the time to do it. heres a pic. it doesn't seem to hurt him or any of the other fish in his tank.

I handfeed my fish sometimes. Just make sure you aren't using soap and other chemicals before handling the tank.
