hand feeding cichla is fun

I used to do this with my aro and other cichlids but have decided it's NOT a good idea. Sure, it's fun showing your friends but it's not as fun when you're doing WC and the fish are biting your hand.

i remember entertaining my family and friend by having my WAL chase after my fingers around the tank...
luckily ive never been bitten.
i have however been bitten by a 12" common wolf and that was no fun at all....

I do it from time to time...the worst of all is my Oscar though. He has suprisingly sharp teeth. He loves to be hand fed. He bit my arm once when I was siphoning gravel and it looked like I got bit by a dog. Drew blood and everything. Little bastard.

i'd rather handfeed smaller ones.
they just peck.
the bigger ones actually swallow your fingers.
my biggest kelberi stuck his head out of the water last night when he saw a piece of shrimp in my hand.

Well my biggest bass is about six inches and a little on the timid sde of things.My mono is the second largest and is putting on size nicely but dashes off when I move close to the tank.I've had Oscars pull on my fingers before.
