Hand feeding my gar...Finally!!

hey guys finally got my gar off of live food:nilly: and tonight I got him to come up to the surface and take strips of talipia right out of my hand. I guess theres really no point to this thread but I was just really excited to get him off of live and even hand feeding with the cats he lives with....Had to stave him for 3weeks:( before he would take anything...kinda felt sorry but now I expect he will grow alot faster!
 
Congrats, always nice to eliminate feeders from the budget. They still make a good (if occasional) treat though.
 
Good Job. Some people don't know what an accomplishment that is. I have tried a few times, my gar won't eat wounded food, let alone eat out of my hand. Gratz man.

im sure he would enjoy chasing them around again...maybe in a few months. Im worried that if I feed him some he will start refusing frozen again. What do u think?
 
now all my fish in the big pond are hand fed. the 26" albino channel will eat 2 whole fillets himself. haha my tsn will but not all the time for some reason, somedays i just gotta drop it in front of him. Now with the gar eating there will be alot less mess in the pond...Now I just gotta get my 15" pleco to come out and eat. haha
