So you have no problems with the metal stock tank?

How long have the fish been in there? What is your ph? I read from a well know website that sells them that the galvanized metal will only release zinc if the ph is very high or low.

I bought it close to a year and a half ago and it has had fish in it since. My ph is always near 7. What website did you read that from? I am interested to find out if that is true. They wont be in there much longer, maybe 2 months at the most, then I plan on getting rid of it.

I read it on www.Aquaticeco.com

Here is an scan of a book about galvanizing I found.

Even though you have monster fish, some more so than others, survival comes first. The fish hanging around the driftwood and each other, is natural. Safety in numbers and cover helps too. Might not be what you wanted, the pacu is still tiny compared to the niger. Fish look great!

Thats very interesting. I will keep a good eye on everything for any sign of corrosion. I may switch them to the pool just cause it is 300 gallons more. But I have to put the pool in the same spot so I am not really sure how I am going to do it without a third large container. I will have to just figure it out.
